WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A MEMBER AND NON-MEMBER, AND HOW DO I JOIN?
As soon as you purchase your first package directly through Dragonfly, you become a member! Membership to Dragonfly entitles you to online spot booking, free towel service, discounted rates on apparel, yoga mat, and shoe rentals, free birthday rides, and more!
Non-Members are those who come to Dragonfly through 3rd parties such as ClassPass, Groupon, or Gilt. Non-Members receive the same great class experience, and can rent towels and yoga mats for an additional fee.
IS THERE A BEGINNER CLASS FOR NEWBIES?
All classes at Dragonfly are open to all levels. You are in control of your bike, your pace, and your resistance so you can modify the workout to your own comfort level. There are beginners in just about every class, so don’t worry! Just go at your own pace, listen to your body, and smile!
WHAT IF I CAN’T FINISH THE FULL CLASS?
If you aren’t feeling well or cannot make it through class for whatever reason, we ask you to get off your bike and exit the cycling room with as little disturbance to class as possible. If you are fatigued but can make it through, take off some resistance on the bike, continue pedaling at a medium pace, and drink lots of water!
WHAT SHOES DO I WEAR FOR INDOOR CYCLING?
We recommend that anyone who rides at least once per week purchase a pair of cycling shoes. Our bikes support both LOOK DELTA and SPD clips.
If you’re not ready to purchase shoes, we offer shoe rentals at $3 cash, or $3.25 with credit card. Shoes can be rented at the front desk upon arrival, in exchange for a phone or keys. This will be returned after class upon return of the shoes.
DO I NEED TO CREATE AN ACCOUNT TO RIDE?
Yes, please! We like to keep account information on file for each of our riders, but it is for Dragonfly’s use only.
DO YOU OFFER MONTHLY MEMBERSHIPS OR DISCOUNTED PACKAGES?
Yes, we have an array of options available to our members, so please read them carefully and choose the one that works best for you. Becoming a member of Dragonfly (purchases single classes or packages directly through the studio) also entitles you to many perks – free towel service, discounted rates on apparel and yoga mat rentals, usage of lockers, and online spot booking!
Dragonfly also offers specials throughout the year, so be sure to check your email and the website for promotions.
DO YOU OFFER CHILDCARE?
Unfortunately we do not at this time. However, if this is something you’d be interested in, please let us know!
CAN I RIDE IF I’M PREGNANT?
Ask your doctor.
HOW MANY CALORIES WILL I BURN IN CLASS?
It all depends on height, weight, age, and fitness level, but on average you can expect to burn between 500-700 calories in a 45 minute class.
DO I NEED TO BRING MY OWN TOWEL AND WATER TO CLASS?
Dragonfly provides towel service, so you’re covered there! You can bring your own water (and refill it at our delicious water station) or purchase some at the front desk. Either way you’ll need it…trust us!
DO YOU HAVE A PLACE TO STORE MY PERSONAL BELONGINGS?
Yes, a co-ed locker room is available to store your belongings during class. Please bring your own lock
DO YOU HAVE SHOWERS?
No, unfortunately we do not have showers.
WHERE CAN I PARK?
There are plenty of parking options around Dragonfly! Street metered parking is available on both sides of Van Nuys Blvd as well as on Moorpark. During the morning hours (until 11am), our friendly neighbors Oliva Trattoria and The Crabby Crab have offered for us to use their lot in the back. If you park in the back, please walk around and enter through the front entrance. For evening classes, the Citibank lot across the street is available after bank hours (5pm). Lastly, there’s a public lot on Moorpark behind Hamburger Hamlet that costs $1 for every 20 minutes, or $4 flat rate after 5pm.
